The Extraordinary Kookaburra Site
This bushland is just behind Wellers Hill State School. With a great amount of natural regeneration and big Tallowwood trees, this site is a great habitat for koalas and the famous White Kookaburra.

Where: Meet at the school car park across from 23 Chamberlain St, Tarragindi
Site Strategy
The Extraordinary Kookaburra bushcare group has been working with the principles of the Bradley Method (a holistic and chemical-free bushcare method). We use very effective tools like tree poppers for woody weeds like Ochna, and kamas for removal of weedy grasses.
Site History
This buscare group was formalised at the end of 2024. The site contains a natural seed bank that will facilitate the regeneration of native vegetation following weed removal.
