"Navigating Norman Creek" is a collection of five short films and one visual poem by Griffith Film School historian and filmmaker Trish FitzSimons, which was exhibited at Museum of Brisbane from 19th June to 11th October 2015. This work was partly funded by a Brisbane City Council Helen Taylor Local History Grant and a Community History Grant.

From the mid 1930s until the present Brisbane City Council made regular aerial images of the city, including of Norman Creek and its catchment. Comparing the 1946 photographs to contemporary Google Earth imagery reveals much about the history of the creek and its catchment in the past seventy years. James Warner, government surveyor, mapped Norman Creek and its surrounding land in 1839. Visually comparing this map with Google Earth reveals surprising changes, and continuities. In 2012, with the goal of presenting a vision for Norman Creek, N4C developed strategic plans for a number of sites in our catchment, which were drawn up by then-N4C president and landscape architect Ashley Nicholson.
Documentary film maker and social historian Trish FitzSimons' first two documentaries about Norman Creek were titled Time and Tide and were produced using support from the Lord Mayor's 'Helen Taylor bequest for Local History'.
