Greenslopes creek infiltration system

Written by

Council has constructed a creek infiltration system next to Norman Creek at Greenslopes.

The project, close to the Greenslopes Bus Station, cleans water runoff from the busway before it enters Norman Creek and provides habitat for native animals. A stormwater drain has been daylighted (brought to the surface) at the top of the slope, so that stormwater can run through a thickly-planted native garden.  This will filter and clean the stormwater before it returns underground and is piped into the main channel of Norman Creek near Ridge St.  The garden is doing well, and has the potential to strengthen habitat corridors from Norman Creek back to Stephens Mountain. Worth a look!

Thanks to Brisbane City Council for installing this great feature in our catchment.
